Empowerment is…
1. Knowing you have the right to say no—and acting on that right—even when it seems everyone around you is saying yes.
2. Standing up for your own well-being with strength, respect and a powerful presence…even if others may not like it.
3. Using your voice to share your opinions, state your disagreements and ask for your needs and wants…even when you believe others don’t care to hear your point of view.
4. Knowing you deserve to be treated well by all people at all times and standing behind this knowledge with a matter-of-fact strength, rather than a frustrated resentment.
5. Raising the bar on the way others treat you and letting them go if they don’t rise to meet your standards.
6. Raising the bar on the way you treat others and holding yourself to the same level of expectation as you do those around you.
7. Knowing you matter, believing your voice is powerful and trusting that you impact this world.
8. Having the courage to make hard choices and go against the status quo, when you know the status quo isn’t serving you or those you love.
9. Choosing to be alone for the right reasons, rather than desperately seeking someone else out for the wrong reasons,
10. Using fear to educate yourself, not stop you.
11. Having the courage to look at what you’re doing that’s not serving you, rather than blaming others for not making you happy.
Challenge: Love yourself enough to BE EMPOWERED.
