“I’m not violent; I don’t believe in killing people, but standing up for yourself, speaking out against injustice, is another form of vengeance.” ~Eva Gabrielsson

It takes a village…

Watch the news for a mere ten minutes, and you will become acutely aware of the ongoing violence in our world. Speak to any five people, and I have no doubt that at least one -if not more—has a story where violence has touched their lives in some way. Ask any female you come across if she worries about her safety, and most—if not all—will chuckle at the absurdity of the question, given that the answer is such an obvious “of course.” Ask any school-aged child if they worry about a school shooting, and far too many will tell you they worry all the time.

In a world with unending violence, your voice and actions are pivotal game-changers—they are the only possible game-changers. The only way to make the world safer for you and those around you is to raise the bar on violence. Pay attention to bullying, intimidation, verbal attacks, and violence of any kind going on around you, and TAKE A STAND.

  • Step in when you can.
  • Report a crime.
  • Call the police.
  • Refuse to go along with any level of violence by anyone in your life—including your best friends. Don’t just not join in—actively step in to stop it.

Uncompromising Safety is a pre-requisite for radical change in our world, on the streets, and in your home. The only way to make our world and your home safer is to raise the bar on violence across the board. Not partaking in violence is not enough; we all need to stand up against it actively—even when the perpetrator is your best friend.

Challenge: It’s not enough for you to not be violent towards others. Until we all take an active stance against violence in front of us, we are forever at risk of violence happening to us. TAKE A STAND.
